“HOMETOWN, USA” becomes my seventh CD project released via my labels Star 1 Entertainment & Records / Nicholsworth Music, LLC out of Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN. The title track, “Hometown, USA” is a tribute to the good people and the town that I grew up in, Union, SC. The song itself recounts memories of friends and days long gone by but never forgotten. This project is filled with all original songs written by me including co-writes with my great friends and Nashville #1 hit songwriters Gerald Smith and Jan Buckingham, along my good friend and songwriter extraordinaire, Amy Chenoweth. “Hometown, USA” gave me an opportunity to return to my roots, giving it more of a traditional country feel while still keeping a touch of the modern, as well as one soulful song, “Sundown.” The final track on this work is an out of the ordinary piece for me. Co-written with Amy Chenoweth, this song depicts the reunion of two souls who have finally joined in eternity. My duet partner, Brandy Williams, delivers a crushing performance. She is one of the most talented and genuine country singers I have ever had the pleasure of working with and she doesn’t disappoint. Brandy also appears with me on another raspy duet here “You Talked Me Into It.” As always, rather than release a new Christian album, going forward on this and all future projects, I have decided to include one or two of my Christian songs on each new country CD as an expression of my faith in God from whom all blessings and ability to write these songs comes. I believe there is something for every country music fan on this project and hope that you enjoy the music! Thank you all and God Bless you.
